Hitachi Yungtay Elevator held its 60th anniversary commemorative ceremony on July 9, officially announcing the launch of its dual-axis transformation strategy encompassing DX (Digital Transformation) and GX (Green Transformation). The company is focusing on three core areas: high-speed elevators, modernization, and digitalized services. This strategic move aims to comprehensively enhance brand competitiveness and high-end market value while continuously expanding its domestic market presence and revenue scale. Coinciding with its 60th anniversary, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator also announced that its cumulative shipments have officially surpassed 100,000 units, marking a significant milestone. Furthermore, with a maintenance portfolio exceeding 75,000 units, the company demonstrates its profound strength and brand influence in the aftermarket service sector. This achievement not only underscores that the company’s manufacturing capabilities, quality management, and service systems have reached a mature and stable stage of large-scale operations, but also further consolidates its market position as a leading brand in Taiwan’s elevator industry.

Tatsuhiro Koguchi, Chairman of Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, stated: “From Yungtay Engineering to Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, our 60-year journey of overcoming challenges has not only laid a profound foundation in Taiwan’s elevator industry, but also achieved our market leadership position today. Throughout this journey, we have consistently pursued excellence, continuously advancing our technology, products, and service quality.” Chairman Koguchi further pointed out that since joining the Hitachi Group, the company has fully implemented the “One Hitachi” philosophy. Starting from elevator manufacturing, the company has progressively expanded its business scope and promoted a strategic layout aimed at long-term value creation in the smart building sector. With the corporate vision of “Becoming Taiwan’s No.1 Smart Building Systems Company,” the company will drive continuous value creation for customers through comprehensive digital transformation and innovative technological applications, while deepening its contributions to social and environmental sustainability.

Aligning with the development direction of Hitachi, Ltd.’s Urban Solutions and Services Business Unit to address various challenges arising from urban development, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will not only continue to provide elevator-centric building solutions but also actively integrate related technologies and services, such as air conditioning and energy. This initiative drives the promotion of the “HMAX™ for Buildings [Note 1]” solution portfolio, which embodies the Lumada 3.0 concept. Chairman Koguchi emphasized: “In addition to actively expanding into new smart building businesses, we will also continue to deepen the development of our core elevator business. In response to shifting market demands and industry upgrade trends, the company will maintain its focus on key areas including high-speed elevators, modernization, maintenance service upgrades, and digitalized services. By doing so, we will further enhance our technical capabilities and service efficiency, build a high-end brand image, strengthen our market competitiveness, and drive long-term, steady corporate growth.”

Yu-Shun Shen, President of Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, stated: “After officially joining the Hitachi Group in 2022, we have become an essential component of Hitachi’s global footprint. This represents not only an increase in corporate scale and international visibility but also means we must confront market competition with global standards. Against this backdrop, transformation is no longer an option, but an essential path for the company’s sustained growth. We must gradually transition from being traditionally product-oriented to becoming value-driven, service-oriented, and data-driven, thereby comprehensively elevating our corporate competitiveness.” Consequently, the company has officially designated “new installs (high-speed elevators),” “modernization,” and “digitalized services” as its three core future development areas, aiming to capture new business opportunities brought about by industry upgrades and urban development. Despite the real estate market adjustments projected for 2026 to 2027, the company’s operational performance remains resilient, with clear visibility for mid-to-long-term revenue. Moving forward, we will leverage the technical advantages and global resources of the Hitachi brand to actively expand our market share in high-speed elevators and premium buildings, while deepening our presence in major commercial complexes, iconic landmarks, and high-end residential markets. At the same time, through product upgrades, the integration of smart technologies, and continuous refinement of service quality, the company will consistently elevate its overall competitiveness and brand value to seize growth opportunities stemming from urban development and building upgrades.

President Shen pointed out that high-speed elevators represent not only cutting-edge technology and exceptional performance, but also a vital symbol of a brand’s technical prowess. Moving forward, the company will further elevate its premium brand image through its high-speed elevator product lineup, focusing on large-scale, high-value smart building projects to demonstrate Hitachi Yungtay Elevator’s leading advantages in technological innovation, quality reliability, and total solution capabilities. Regarding the elevator modernization market, President Shen stated that Hitachi Yungtay Elevator currently maintains a portfolio of over 75,000 units nationwide, with more than 17,000 units having an operating age exceeding 25 years. As Taiwan progressively enters an era of large-scale elevator replacements, market demand for equipment safety, reliability, and smart features continues to rise. This has led to a rapid growth in modernization opportunities, which will become one of the key drivers fueling the company’s future revenue growth. Grounded in its corporate responsibility to ensure elevator safety, the company will accelerate the implementation of aging elevator replacement initiatives. While maintaining stable growth in its maintenance business, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will roll out diverse modernization solutions in its renewal business to provide tailored problem-solving solutions for every customer.

President Shen expressed: “Promoting the renewal of aging elevators is not merely about equipment replacement; it is an upgrade of the entire passenger experience and building value. What we aim to provide our customers with is not just an elevator product, but a safer, more convenient, and smarter passenger experience powered by Hitachi’s latest smart elevator technologies and digital management systems. Furthermore, based on the actual usage scenarios of customers, the company will tailor upgrade solutions integrating Hitachi’s latest smart elevator technology. This ensures that customers not only complete their equipment renewal but also simultaneously enjoy smart management, energy efficiency, and superior passenger experience. Through our differentiated advantages of ‘original factory maintenance’ and ‘real-time service,’ we will continue to build market trust and establish a brand value and competitive barrier that is difficult to replicate.” Looking to the future, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will take its 60th anniversary as a brand-new starting point to further deepen its DX and GX dual-axis transformation strategies. By combining the Hitachi Group’s global resources and technical strengths, the company will create comprehensive solutions encompassing elevators, air conditioning, energy, and smart building management—joining hands with customers to march toward a new chapter in smart, sustainable, and highly efficient future urban development.

Note 1: As one of Lumada’s applications, “HMAX™ for Buildings” combines AI, building-related data, and Hitachi’s accumulated expertise. It is dedicated to creating new value for buildings, while concurrently enhancing the safety and efficiency of on-site operations and promoting the well-being of building users.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator officially announced on June 5th that it has reached the milestone of cumulative shipments of 100,000 units. Coinciding with the company’s 60th anniversary, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator held a grand celebration ceremony. Under the concerted efforts of Chairman Koguchi and the entire staff, the 60th-anniversary series of events was officially launched.
Chairman Koguchi, who just took office this April, visited the site in person to witness this historic moment alongside front-line colleagues at the Taoyuan Factory. Chairman Koguchi expressed with emotion: “As the company enters its 60th anniversary, welcoming the delivery of our 100,000th elevator is the best birthday gift all our colleagues could have given to the company! Behind these 100,000 units lies not only the Taiwan market’s absolute trust in our position as the ‘No. 1 in Market Share,’ but also the highest honor earned through the sweat of everyone on the front line. This achievement comes with great responsibility, and providing flawless, safe services remains the company’s unwavering commitment.”
Since joining the Hitachi Group in 1983, Chairman Koguchi has always engaged directly with clients on the front lines, accumulating over 40 years of experience in elevator maintenance and management. Standing at the new starting point of its 60th anniversary, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has actively introduced international management and technical standards in recent years, perfectly integrating them with deeply rooted localized operational strategies. Chairman Koguchi pointed out that in the face of future market opportunities, the company will continue to leverage the group synergy of “One Hitachi.” He also expressed his hope that the Taoyuan Factory will continue to serve as the strongest production backbone, driving the next golden decade with leading smart manufacturing.
Facing the massive operational capacity of 100,000 elevators across Taiwan, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator views “safety” as an uncompromising bottom line. At the ceremony, Chairman Koguchi reiterated the company’s ironclad rule: S>>L>>Q>D>C (Safety>Legal>Quality>Delivery>Cost). He emphasized that absolutely nothing takes priority over safety. While production numbers continue to rise, the company requires its employees to maintain the mindset of “Return home safely,” viewing the safety and health of employees as the company’s most important asset.
To extend the commitment of safety to its clients, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator is aggressively promoting a “predictive and proactive maintenance attitude.” By utilizing big data and smart sensing technology, the company performs precise maintenance before issues occur, providing a more comprehensive, reassuring product and mobility experience.
The birth of the 100,000th elevator represents the culmination of Hitachi Yungtay Elevator’s 60 years of honor. Although it rained on the day of the ceremony, the company embraces the traditional mindset that “water brings prosperity.” With overflowing momentum and infinite drive, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will continue to inject vitality into the enterprise, walking hand in hand with Taiwanese society toward the next glorious decade.

Implementing localized operations in accordance with international standards—the safety of clients, employees, and workplaces remains the core commitment continuously practiced by the company. On the right is Chairman Koguchi Tatsuhiro, and on the left is General Manager Shen Yu-Shun.

One employee shared: “It was a rare opportunity to bring my children to the Taipei Dome. Hitachi Yungtay Elevator provides customized air-conditioned clothing, offering on-site employees a more comfortable working environment.

With the impact of climate change and global warming, high-temperature days in Taiwan continue to rise each year. The Central Weather Administration forecasts that future summers could last up to 210 days. Recently, consecutive days of temperatures exceeding 38 degrees Celsius have further intensified the challenges faced by workers in outdoor and enclosed spaces.

During elevator installation projects inside buildings, workers are often required to spend long hours in narrow, poorly ventilated elevator hoistway, where heat and discomfort are especially pronounced.

While air-conditioned clothing products are already available in the market, the company has developed customized clothing tailored specifically to the unique demands of elevator installation sites. The uniforms are made of flame-resistant cotton fabric to reduce the risk of sparks causing fires and are designed to be compatible with safety harnesses, ensuring both safety and comfort.

The manager from the installation department noted: “Elevator installation and maintenance are typically carried out in high-temperature, confined spaces, where workers must also wear multiple safety devices. With the introduction of this specialized air-conditioned clothing, our employees can stay cool and breathable while maintaining productivity. This has significantly improved the overall comfort of their working environment.”

An employee who participates in the installation work shared: “In the past, working in hoistway during summer left workers drenched in sweat, with clothes soaked and energy quickly drained. Now, with the air-conditioned clothing, work is cooler, safer, and less stressful.”

The company further explained that the main difference from general air-conditioned clothing is the material choice. While most market products are made of nylon, which is highly flammable, Hitachi Yungtay’s clothing uses flame-resistant cotton fabric, making it more suitable for the safety needs of hoistway operations. The overall design also complies with the Ministry of Labor’s guidelines for high-altitude and high-temperature work. Through these enhanced protective measures, the company aims to create a safer and more employee-friendly workplace.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator stated that the customized air-conditioned clothing is made of flame-resistant cotton fabric to reduce the risk of sparks causing fires, and it is designed to be compatible with safety harnesses, ensuring both safety and comfort.

In recent years, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has continuously invested in occupational safety improvements. Since introducing a Japanese-style safety management system, workplace injury cases have successfully decreased by 86%. The company emphasized that this initiative not only enhances occupational safety but also aligns with ESG principles—improving work environments, reducing energy consumption and health risks caused by extreme heat, and advancing toward a sustainable and employee-friendly workplace.

Looking ahead, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator stated it will continue to invest in research and development for other safety equipment and work environment improvements, driving more innovative solutions to ensure employees can work safely and comfortably. This reflects the company’s long-term commitment to employee health and sustainable corporate values.

The post Hitachi Yungtay Elevator Implements Japanese RA-KY Safety Management System, Achieving 86% Reduction in Occupational Incidents in Four Years and Striving for a Zero-Accident Goa first appeared on YUNGTAY: The Top Elevator and Escalator Brand in Taiwan.

]]>

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has implemented the RA-KY system, requiring two-person teams to perform point-and-call safety checks and on-site risk reminders before operations. This approach fosters a standardized and institutionalized safety culture.

Since 2020, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has invested heavily to become an industry first to fully adopt the Japanese RA-KY safety management system. By integrating digitalized workplace management, establishing the Safety Control Center (CCP), and introducing virtual reality (VR) training to simulate various risk scenarios, the company has successfully reduced occupational incidents by 86% in four years and achieved zero accidents, setting a benchmark for safety management in Taiwan’s elevator industry.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator stated that the company adheres to the Group’s fundamental principle of placing “safety and health” as the top priority, following the operational guideline of the Hitachi Urban System Business Unit — S (Safety) >> L (Legal) >> Q (Quality) > D (Delivery) > C (Cost). With three major safety mechanisms and three innovative safety tools as the core, the company actively invests in safety management and continues to promote safety awareness. The company’s philosophy is realized through six key dimensions: RA-KY, the CCP Safety Control Center, on-site inspection mechanisms, AI-based identification of personal protective equipment, VR immersive training, and safety protection enhancements.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator explained that RA-KY stands for “Risk Assessment (RA)” and “Kiken Yochi (KY)” (meaning hazard protection in Japanese), a safety practice developed in Japan through decades of field experience. Since 2020, Hitachi Yungtay has gradually implemented RA-KY and fully rolled it out in Taiwan by 2023. Frontline engineers are required to complete self-health checks and conduct risk and hazard assessments before work every morning and afternoon to ensure complete operational safety.

The CCP Safety Control Center ensures workplace safety by monitoring compliance in real time. To address on-site risks such as falls, entanglement, and electric shocks, engineers are required to submit photos of key safety checkpoints related to the work environment and equipment. The images are then sent to the Control Center for real-time verification before the next phase of work can proceed. Through digitalization of real-time transmission and centralized management, the efficiency of safety inspections and the accuracy of on-site operation have been significantly improved.

The on-site inspection system ensures the implementation of safety measures, with senior executives conducting monthly site visits and over 100 responsible safety supervisors carrying out random inspections. These ongoing audits—resulting in tens of thousands of inspection records annually—continuously remind employees of workplace risks, making safety awareness an integral part of daily operations.

As an industry pioneer, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has introduced AI real-time recognition technology to automatically detect whether engineers are properly equipped with personal protective gear, such as helmets and safety harnesses, before entering worksites. The company plans to expand AI applications to cover more safety checkpoints in the future.

To further enhance risk awareness and response capability, the company has actively deployed a VR training system, allowing engineers to experience immersive simulations of common accident scenarios such as falls, falling objects, and entrapment, helping them to rehearse risk responses in advance.

For high-risk machine-room-less construction platforms, the company plans to adopt dual-motor construction platforms to replace traditional single-motor designs, preventing falls caused by equipment failure and enhancing safety protection. The company is also evaluating wearable image recognition technology, which can provide real-time reminders of operational precautions and potential risks, strengthening safety awareness and on-site protection.

Since 2021, the company has collaborated with the government to promote the “Safety Family” initiative, inviting subcontractors to participate in safety education and improvement programs. Over the past three years, 12 events and 20 hours of training have been held, helping more than 60 participants obtain professional safety certifications. At the same time, in alignment with the Ministry of Labor’s revised “Guidelines for Work Suspension and Resumption”, the company has optimized on-site reporting and auditing procedures to effectively reduce suspension risks caused by improper operations and ensure every piece of equipment is completed in a zero-accident environment.

In an era where digital transformation advances alongside high-risk industries, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator integrates innovative technology with practical management to achieve its vision of “zero occupational incidents.” In 2023, the company was recognized with the National Occupational Safety Award, demonstrating its long-term commitment to safety management and corporate social responsibility.

The CCP Control Center analyzes construction site risks point by point through visuals, complemented by discussions following the hazard prediction (Kiken Yochi) process within the RA-KY system, ensuring preemptive risk elimination and operational safety.

Before commencing operations, on-site engineers use mobile devices to photograph equipment conditions and instantly transmit the images to the CCP Control Center. This real-time digital monitoring and dual-verification process enhances overall safety audit efficiency.

(hereafter Hitachi Yungtay Elevator), a Taiwan-based subsidiary of Hitachi engaged in the manufacturing, sales, installation, and maintenance of elevators and escalators, has received an order for all 147 elevators and escalators from Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City Government for the second phase of the Taipei Rapid Transit System (hereafter Taipei MRT*1) Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line, which is scheduled to complete in 2031. This order is the largest-ever one for elevators and escalators for the Hitachi Group in Taiwan and also the largest-ever one that Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has received since it was established in 1966 as Yungtay Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereafter Yungtay)

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator will install 41 large-capacity machine-room-less elevators with load capacities of 1,600 kg and 2,000 kg, and 106 escalators at all 13 stations and one substation to be constructed in the second phase of the Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line. All elevators will be equipped with the earthquake emergency operation function*2 to ensure safety and security for users.

The first phase involves 9 stations with a total length of 9.5 km and the second phase involves 13 stations (2 underground and 11 elevated) with a total length of 13.3 km. Hitachi Yungtay Elevator emphasizes the workplace safety of all personnel as a top priority. Ensuring a safe environment for both users and installers during the installation process is of utmost importance. Throughout the installation process, the company has introduced various safety devices through innovation or research and development, which are shared among its family of partners.
Recently, on December 18, 2023, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator received recognition from the National Occupational Safety Commission for 2023. In response to this, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator stated that it has been actively collaborating with the Ministry of Labor for more than three years, implementing internal workplace safety measures within the company. Simultaneously, the company has invited contractors and business partners associated with its operations to jointly establish a safety family, providing continuous assistance to family members in strengthening workplace safety measures and offering corresponding equipment. Moreover, during the three-year period from 2021 to 2023, family members successfully achieved the goal of zero occupational incidents.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator expresses that the composition and execution of the Safety Family align seamlessly with Hitachi Group’s core business philosophy, emphasizing “S (Safety) >> L (Legal) >> Q (Quality) > D (Delivery) > C (Cost).” Hitachi Yungtay Elevator emphasizes that elevators, being vertical high-speed transportation devices, prioritize the workplace safety of all personnel. Ensuring a safe environment for users and installation personnel during the installation process is the foremost priority.Throughout the installation process, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has innovatively developed and provided multiple safety devices, sharing them with its family of partners. This commitment reflects the company’s dedication to maintaining a secure and efficient workplace in line with its overarching business principles.
Caption: Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, in collaboration with its family of partners, has successfully achieved the goal of zero occupational incidents within the past three years by sharing safety equipment.
Traditional elevator installation methods expose installers to a high risk of falling. Therefore,Hitachi Yungtay Elevator firmly refuses to use scaffolding in the construction. Instead, the company fully adopts advanced climbing hoist installation technology and elevator body construction methods without scaffolding. This innovative approach is shared with all family members, contributing to the achievement of the zero occupational incidents goal.Starting from 2021, in order to enhance safety awareness and conduct risk assessments for hazard anticipation, Hitachi Yungtay Elevator has introduced a triple safety confirmation system by leveraging the rich installation operation safety specifications database of the Hitachi Group. This system ensures the safety of on-site personnel.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator stated that since 2021, they have been providing project guidance, educational training, safety promotion, risk assessment, and improvements in personal protective equipment and facility tools for members of the safety alliance. During this period, they have organized more than 12 safety events, conducted over 20 hours of educational training, and assisted nearly 60 alliance members in obtaining a 6-hour construction safety qualification certificate. This initiative has also saved small and medium-sized enterprises nearly 70,000 yuan in training costs. The planning and promotion were assisted by the Labor Inspection Office of Taipei City, ensuring improvements in personal protective equipment across all alliance members. Through subsidies provided by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for equipment and tool replacements, they have reduced the costs for alliance members in purchasing protective equipment and safety tools, benefiting multiple stakeholders. In the future, they hope to implement an AI-driven workplace safety environment management system to fully embody Hitachi Group’s safety-first philosophy and achieve an efficient and safe working environment through digitalization.

Shen Yu-Shun, the newly appointed General Manager, emphasized the company’s foremost focus on safety, regulations, and aspiring to serve as the primary conduit for interdepartmental coordination and communication.

“Hitachi Yungtay Elevator Co., Ltd.” recently announced the promotion of Shen Yu-Shun, who has served for 36 years, from his previous role as Assistant Manager in the Service and Marketing Department. He has ascended through the ranks, having gained experience in elevator installation, sales, a secondment to Shanghai, and various positions across Northern, Central, and Southern Taiwan, as well as post-sales service. Now, in his new role, he prioritizes customer service, production and sales coordination, and employee welfare. “Top talents in each department are like glistening pearls. I am just an unassuming cord, yet I hope this cord is strong enough to bind everyone together firmly, creating a dazzling pearl bracelet,” Shen Yu-Shun humbly envisions his role as a coordinator, striving to consolidate consensus and unite employees, with the goal of leading the company and its staff towards growth and prosperity.

Upon joining the company in 1987 and witnessing that the team leader of the group he was assigned to had been with the company for over a decade, Shen Yu-Shun deeply felt that this was a company where stable long-term employment was possible. Even after Yungtay became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi last year, not only were there no layoffs, but a 6% salary increase was also implemented this year. Agreements were signed with all four provincial unions, further showcasing the multinational corporation’s commitment to talent and its dedication to labor-management harmony and employee welfare. He believes that Hitachi’s corporate vision and elevation align not only with the founder and former chairman’s principles but also uphold the core tenet of “people-first.”

In line with Hitachi’s “S (Safety) >> L (Legal) >> Q (Quality) >>D (Delivery) >> C (Cost)” operational philosophy, Shen Yu-Shun emphasized that, just as our five fingers vary in length, when tightly grasped together, they can form a strong iron fist capable of overcoming any challenge. Hitachi places great importance on workplace safety, labor regulations, and environmental health. From annual health check-ups to labor safety education, top-level executives down to directors regularly inspect worksites. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment before conducting any operations, as life is invaluable, and protecting employees from occupational accidents is the foremost duty as business operators. He hopes that all employees will strive tirelessly towards achieving “zero accidents.” Moreover, adherence to Hitachi’s compliance system, “Basics and Righteousness,” embodies the spirit of “sincerity” and prioritizes morality over profit and loss. Upholding ethics and abiding by the law is the foundation of corporate trustworthiness. Our business is built on the foundation of customer trust, thus requiring employees to hold a higher sense of professionalism.

Caption: General Manager Shen Yu-Shun (second from the left), Senior Employee Qiu Cong-Hui (third from the left), and two sons. Qiu Cong-Hui stated that a good company is one that excels at the most fundamental things, just like ensuring salaries are always punctual.

Shen Yu-Shun, who has grown and thrived alongside Yungtay, feels deeply that his decision to stay and work for the company was the right one. Even Qiu Cong-Hui, an employee with more seniority, went as far as to “recruit” family members to join the company. He humorously referred to his children as “raised on company milk.” He has enjoyed various company welfare programs, including benefits for marriage, bereavement, childbirth, children’s scholarships, group insurance, employee bonuses, and more. Qiu Cong-Hui, who plans to retire at the age of 65 with 47 years of service by the end of this year, mentioned that the company inquired if he would be interested in retiring and then being rehired. He believes a good company excels at the basics, just like ensuring salaries are always punctual. As a result, when his two sons reached adulthood, he asked if they were interested in working for the company, but they declined at first. He humorously stated that young people often need to explore the outside world before realizing what they truly want. Eventually, both of his sons joined the company, creating a second-generation workforce. Such examples are prevalent at Hitachi Yungtay Elevator Co., Ltd., as only a contented company can foster such an atmosphere. The Qiu brothers added that besides regular salary disbursements, supervisors also actively remind employees to apply for relevant benefits, and there’s one thing that made them most appreciative: “monthly bonuses!”

Caption: Senior employee Lian Jin-Jia, who served for over 43 years, humorously stated that he used to frequently interact with engineers dispatched by Hitachi to Taiwan. In the future, he aims to adhere to Hitachi’s principles, prioritizing safety and regulations while maintaining a rigorous approach to products.

Equally, Lian Jin-Jia, who served in the Quality Assurance department for over 43 years, jokingly mentioned that the company was initially a top 100 brand in Taiwan and is now part of the Fortune Global 500*. His pride in joining Hitachi is evident in his speech. Lian Jin-Jia joined Yungtay just four days after completing his military service and continued to serve at the forefront of product quality assurance until his retirement in May 2023, when he was rehired by the company. He remarked that the company has remained consistent from small to large. He hopes that “Hitachi Yungtay Elevator Co., Ltd. can be like Leica in Germany, with three generations of employees serving in the same company.” Uniquely, Lian Jin-Jia was a union member and leader for 12 years, championing labor’s interests and actively advocating for rights against management. He added that the company is always willing to listen to employees’ voices and allows space for professional autonomy.

Shen Yu-Shun added that Hitachi highly respects local cultures and views employees as valuable assets. Therefore, he hopes employees will work and grow alongside the company, fostering unity and cooperation. He aspires to lead the company with an “One Hitachi” spirit, ensuring sustainable operations and achieving greatness. By providing customers with high-quality products and post-sales services, the company aims to contribute to society.

*1: As of August 2023, based on the Global Ranking published by a prominent U.S. business magazine, Hitachi consistently ranks among the top 500 companies.

2022 Energy Taiwan not only focuses on multiple renewable energy sources, but also shows that energy conservation, energy storage and smart energy management have played a key role in constructing green and low-carbon energy management. Hitachi Yungtay Elevator, a global leader in the elevator industry, has launched a vertical mobility solution— “Hitachi Care and Green Service” , which meets the needs of intelligence and environmental protection. It adopts an proactive remote diagnosis and maintenance system, proactively capture signs of failure and perform predictive maintenance, and then recovers the electric energy generated during elevator operation and feed it back to the power grid of the building through the energy feedback device which reduces the use of electric energy from Taipower, achieving sustainable, intelligent and green energy elevator standard.

Hitachi Yungtay Elevator’s “Hitachi Care and Green Service” provides seamless, secure and reliable services through high-quality, high-efficiency and sustainable maintenance with precise, accurate and real-time remote analysis 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The renewable energy is fed back to the power grid of the building for reuse by building lighting, air conditioning and office equipment. Besides achieving the purpose of energy saving and carbon reduction, it can also save public electricity sharing costs and reduce public maintenance costs.

In addition, HIT also uses the Internet of Things (IoT) and related safety patented technologies to provide customer value such as human-machine communication, safety and security.
