Yungtay (1507) announced today (September 1st) that Yungtay China has retained its position as one of the top 10 elevator manufacturers in China for the second consecutive year in 2020, in the face of intense competition from global elevator brands. For the first time, Chairman Hsu Tso-Ming was named the most influential person in the global elevator industry in 2020 by the Summit, joining the chairmen of other leading international elevator brands.
Yungtay said that the 2020 World Elevator & Escalator Expo Exhibition and 2020 Global Elevator Industry Summit held in Shanghai, China from mid to late August has officially concluded. This event is held every two years and is known as the Academy Awards of the elevator industry. Yungtay was the only Taiwanese company from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to participate in the exhibition.
Mr. Hsu indicated that Yungtay is one of the most influential figures in the industry, along with the world’s elevator brands such as Mitsubishi, Otis, and Schindler, representing that Yungtay’s efforts in recent years and its 27 years of cultivation in China have been recognized and affirmed by all walks of life. He also said that his consistent management philosophy is to respond to the competitive situation to “uphold the customer first” and “recognize that the market is in charge” while underscoring corporate governance and professional management capabilities in the pursuit of sustainable shareholder interests. The company will continue to take care of its employees and implement a profit-sharing system with them.
Mr. Hsu further pointed out that Yungtay’s “zero-touch epidemic-proof elevator”, “anti-virus elevator” and “transparent observation elevator with plastic-wrapped wire ropes”, which were first introduced at the World Elevator & Escalator Expo Exhibition this year, have received good comments. Moreover, Yungtay’s maintenance system has gone through four months of research and development with the intensive utilization of resources. Through the Internet of Things technology, it has obtained the first “Shanghai Elevator Remote Monitoring System Docking Certificate” issued by the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation. The system monitors the client’s elevator in real-time at all times with the functions of repair, multi-party communication and instant rescue, and all this is done through the cloud intelligence platform.
Looking ahead, Mr. Hsu expects that Yungtay will not only continue to be one of the top 10 elevator manufacturers in China but also aim to return to the global top 10 (Yungtay was one of the world’s top 10 elevator manufacturers from 2014 to 2015). Meanwhile, Yungtay’s target of taking orders for 25,000 units in China will remain unchanged this year.
